One Good Deed is a not-for-profit charity organisation that seeks to provide free dawah material to Muslim households.
How One Good Deed Began
A newly wed Muslim couple sought to earn ongoing rewards from Allah by doing more for their community. The couple, based in Sydney Australia, work full-time in Corporate roles in the CBD.
Their vision came to life in 2013 when the couple developed their first project with the distribution of “Free Du'a Cards” to households during the Holy Month of Ramadan. By the Grace of Allah, they were able to distribute well over 2,000 packets to households in Sydney, Melbourne and the UK.
The couple could see the positive impact of the project on the community. Children began memorising du'a, and families who had never even known household du'a existed began implementing them in their daily lives. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and the demand exceeded the supply of cards.
The Muslim couple envisioned the potential for future dawah projects, and so between 2014-2015 they officially formalised and registered the charity One Good Deed.
One Good Deed plans to distribute thousands of additional household du'a cards in 2015, and will begin several new projects in 2015-2016, inshaAllah.
One Good Deed hopes to inspire Muslims by encouraging the remembrance of Allah through free educational Islamic material.
